Technical Assessment After an Agency Build
The Starting Point:
A Funded Product, Built by Someone Else
The founders had the market and the funding. The code came from an agency and a nearshore team, and nobody on the founding side could read it. The question was simple: is this foundation sound enough to keep building on?
My Approach:
Read the Code, Name the Risks, Put a Price on Them
- Technical assessment. I went through architecture, data model and the delivery setup and wrote down what would break first.
- Critical issues, found early. Several architectural decisions would have forced a six-figure rebuild within a year. They were named while they were still cheap to correct.
- A plain-language report. What to fix now, what can wait and what it costs either way, written so the founders could decide without a technical background.
The Result:
A Decision Based on Facts, Not on Hope
The founders knew what they had and what to do about it before spending the next franc on features. They rated the work 10/10. The client stays unnamed at their request.
