Don't build before we talk.
Technical partner for funded startups and small companies. Fractional CTO, product builds, senior reinforcement. One person, twenty years of building, TypeScript front to back.
Based near Aarau. Remote or on site. Reply within 24 hours.
You have customers and a product, but no technical co-founder. Decisions pile up and nobody owns them.Fractional CTO
You have the idea and the budget, but no team. You want it built, not managed.Product build
Your team is good, but it needs a senior for the next six months.Senior reinforcement
If none of these is you, the questions at the bottom say who I don't work with. It saves us both an email.
They show up when you've built something nobody wants to pay for.
When the architecture breaks exactly when it needs to hold.
When the nearshore team delivers what a senior would have flagged in sprint one.
When the app your AI tools wrote exposes every user's data on launch day.
By then the cost isn't technical. And it was avoidable.
Every line of code narrows what's possible next. That's why I'd rather talk before you build.
I own the technical side of your product end to end: architecture, data model, infrastructure, delivery. You keep your equity and skip the full-time hire. Ideal for: founders with a product and customers but no technical co-founder.
Billed hourly, typically one to two days a week.
You have the idea and the customers. I ship the product: concept, architecture, implementation, launch. Ideal for: funded startups and small companies that need a product without building a development team.
Fixed price per milestone after a scoping session.
Three to twelve months hands-on in your team, or a project I take on independently. Ideal for: small teams with a gap no hire can close in time.
Billed hourly, monthly cap agreed up front.
CHF 200/hr. No retainers. No minimums. No surprise invoices. For the right projects, equity terms are possible. We'll know when we talk.
Clients and my own products. For every project: my role, the stack and a case study.

2026
Fractional CTO for a Swiss B2B SaaS. As the only engineer: multi-tenant data model, server migration, a full rebuild of the application and the go-to-market, working directly with the founder.
2026
Technical assessment for a Swiss startup after an agency and nearshore build: found the architectural issues before they became a six-figure rebuild.
2026
Human security reviews for AI-built apps. From business case to live product with Stripe checkout and automated customer care in a few days.
2023
iOS and Android app for a sim-racing lounge from one codebase: slot booking, one-tap event registration, push notifications from the backend. Built in three months.
since 2016
Custom CRM built from scratch and extended for nine years: Angular frontend with offline cache, Node.js backend, Office 365 sync.
2019
A custom neural network, published as a public API and sold through Stripe, with paying customers. Years before ChatGPT.

I'm Michel Wehrli. Twenty years of writing code, nine of them full-stack in production. Agency work first, then six years as sole frontend lead at Eventfrog, then my own products. Chronoscout is the most recent one: built alone, no investors, 1,300 collectors. Katalyze is me. No account managers, no handoffs, one name on every line of code.
Limited availability until 1 January 2027: consulting, code reviews and fractional work, up to about 4 hours a week. Larger projects are best planned now for the time after.
What does it cost? CHF 200 per hour, billed monthly on actual hours. Product builds at a fixed price per milestone. No retainers, no minimums.
Remote or on site? Both. I'm near Aarau and work across Switzerland and Europe. Workshops, planning and reviews happen on site whenever it helps. The coding happens at my own desk: without meetings and interruptions I'm many times faster, and you pay for fewer hours.
Do you take equity? For the right projects, alongside a reduced rate. Never instead of it.
Who don't you work with? Agencies looking for a subcontractor, corporates with long procurement processes, regulated industries that need certified sign-off and stacks outside the TypeScript ecosystem. I'll say so before you pay for anything.
I built my app with Lovable, Cursor or Claude Code. Where do I start? With a fixed-price human review at Slop Medic. If it needs more than a review afterwards, we talk.
