SaaS rebuild and go-to-market
Fractional CTO for a Swiss B2B SaaS

A Swiss B2B SaaS with paying customers and no technical co-founder. As fractional CTO and sole engineer, I own the technical side end to end: the multi-tenant data model, the server migration and a full rebuild of the application. And I work with the founder on the go-to-market, so the rebuilt product reaches its customers.

Role
Fractional CTO and sole engineer
Duration
2026, ongoing
Stack
TypeScript, Node.js, SQL

The Starting Point:
A Product with Customers and Nobody Owning the Technology

The product was live and earning. What it lacked was an owner for the technical decisions: how the data of many customers lives side by side, where the application runs, how it gets built from here and how the next customers find it. Those decisions had piled up.

My Approach:
One Engineer, Direct Line to the Founder

No team, no handoffs. I work directly with the founder, decide with him what gets built and build it myself.

  • Multi-tenant data model. One schema that keeps every customer’s data separate and still lets the product grow.
  • Server migration. The application moved to infrastructure that is simpler to run and cheaper to keep.
  • Full rebuild. The application is being rebuilt on that foundation, feature by feature, without a pause for the customers.
  • Go-to-market. The rebuild is not the goal, new customers are. I work with the founder on how the product is positioned, launched and found.

The Result:
Technical Ownership Without the Full-Time Hire

The founder keeps the equity and gets a senior engineer who owns architecture, data model, infrastructure, delivery and the technical side of the go-to-market. The client stays unnamed at their request.
